Many drivers like the added peace of mind that comes with purchasing an extended warranty for their new vehicle. If you are looking for that additional security, there are plenty of outstanding Ford warranty plans from Ford Protect for you to choose from. You’re sure to find one that meets your driving needs and budget. After your 3-year/36,000-mile Ford factory warranty and 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty coverage ends, consider any of the following Ford extended warranty plans. Cornerstone Auto has the details.

What Can You Expect from Ford Protect Extended Service Plans?

There are four available Ford Protect Extended Service Plans, which vary by price and level of coverage. Read on to find out which is the right choice for you.

  • PowertrainCARE: With this plan, 29 components of your Ford will be covered within the engine, transmission, RWD, and FWD. Although some components within these systems will not be covered, all of the major ones are. For example, the radiator is not covered for the engine and bearings are not covered with the RWD and FWD.
  • BaseCARE: With theBaseCARE Service Plan, 84 different components are now covered. This plan goes beyond what is covered in the PowertrainCARE plan and adds elements like steering, brakes, front suspension, A/C and heating, and electrical components. Keep in mind that a few components are not covered, for example, the anti-lock brake module.
  • ExtraCARE: This Ford extended warranty covers 113 components. Everything covered in the plans above is still covered, but this plan also adds on coverage for tech and convenience features. Opt for this plan, and your keyless entry and power window motors are now covered against defects. Other advanced features are still not covered, such as Ford SYNC® or rain-sensing wipers.
  • PremiumCARE: The PremiumCARE plan covers over 1,000 components of your Ford. What is not covered by the above plans is covered with PremiumCARE. You will not have to worry about costly out-of-pocket expenses if some component of your vehicle fails.

Ford Protect Premium Maintenance Plan

Another plan you can choose helps to cover the cost of maintaining your Ford vehicle. Oil changes and filter replacements, multi-point inspections, and tire inspections/rotations are covered with the Premium Maintenance plan, so you can keep your vehicle performing at its best. Keep up with the maintenance schedule for your particular model and save at the service center with the Ford Protect Premium Maintenance Plan.
